We immediately got changed and walked through the shallow sea up to the white beach, but we hadn't realised it would be so busy as it was the weekend and also the start of the school holiday. We got a drink, had a wander through the shops and watched the locals for awhile, then walked back down to our quiet little corner at the resort.
There is coral all along the beach and we couldn't wait to use our new underwater camera and snorkels. Time flew by and we got abit carried away. It wasn't until we got back to our room that we saw our skin gradually turning deep scarlet red. Oops. We then tried turning on the air con to cool down and realised it wasn't working but as soon as we told the owner, she offered to knock some money off and move us to another room the following night.
A very sleepless night later and the pain really began to set in. We hid from the sun for the next 24 hours but luckily it wasn't too bad as the beautiful views and yummy food kept us company. Our next plan was then go to an island called Malapascua in the morning but we'd heard about a boat trip that we'd hoped to go on that day but couldn't bare it with the burns, so in the end we postponed moving on and spent another night here.
The room we moved into is so much better and last night we got our first good nights sleep, ready for the boat trip today.
:)
