Our last day was pretty much just spent sorting out accommodation and travel to the next place. We had a slight panic when we couldn't find anywhere, especially when we thought we had found a place only to wake up the morning of checking out to an email saying it wasn't available. Then to make matters worse we had a lizard running around the room. Sean had to chase it around the room with the curtian rail to get it out of the window.
It was going to cost a huge amount for the direct journey from Talisay to Moalboal so we decided to split it between taxi and bus. To say the bus was packed is an understatement but luckily there was air con. We met a really nice couple who were giving us loads of tips and advice so it was bearable until half an hour in and Alex was gipping into a bag. Luckily there was a nice man who gave up his seat for her. Thats definitely one thing we've noticed, how nice people are here. It doesn't always come across at first until you speak to them directly but they are all very friendly and helpful when you do. 3 hours later of a rather bumpy ride we pulled up and jumped on the back of a tricycle. We found our accommodation and dropped our bags off because hunger started to kick in. We walked a minute down the road and stumbled into the first place that sold food, which happened to be perfect. It was a beach hut restaurant with the most beautiful sunset over the water... typical that we forgot our cameras.
Back at our room we had just settled down when we had our second visitor running across the floor. A centipede. And without exaggerating it was huge! Like something off Bear Grylls. Even Sean, who claimed he wasn't scared (but who I saw checking his shoes everytime before he put them on from that moment onwards) definitely was. It was all made worse by the fact that the power kept going out so we were using torches to find where it went. Sean used the bin to catch it against the wall and I held it in place whilst he got ready to run outside with it -- She decided to use her toes and almost dropped the bin and panicked. After getting the centipede out we were on guard. Alex had previously claimed the bottom bunk then decided she wanted to sleep in the top bunk so.... we shared. A single bed and extra hot, fair to say it wasn't the most comfortable.
These first few days hadn't been the easiest but arriving in Moalboal definitely picked us up again. Especially where we are currently. More on that to come.
:)
